This lightweight high-torque gear reduction starter clears all headers and oil pans where original equipment starters won't. The Mastertorque Starter is an excellent choice for mild race or high performance street applications where heat soak is the main concern. Features 4.4:1 gear reduction ratio and 180 ft. lbs. of torque. Also features an adjustable mounting block. Fits Big Block Ford applications.

Does this 9605 starter use the stock external solenoid? I will be mounting it on a 351m/400 with auto trans. Wanting to keep a stock look. The engine has a 9.8:1 compression.
