If you're converting your Flathead-powered car or truck to a 12-volt electrical system, you'll need a modern alternator for proper charging. This bracket mounts the ever-popular GM 1-wire alternator to a 1938-1945 Flathead Ford V8. The plain steel bracket can easily be painted to match your engine.

  • Center mounts GM SI-style alternators
  • Must use with the single 5/8" wide belt
  • Must use with the early "short" water pumps

I would buy this product again.

Perfect fit on my '39 Ford flathead with GM SI 10 alternator. Everything lines up, no alterations required except original belt was too short. Replaced belt with Gates 24538 (NAPA 2524538).

Disappointed in the fit tech help was unable to help on this

This bracket was well built but had to go to a machine shop to get milled for a proper fit. I have built most of my '32 Ford with speedway parts, just ordered a '37 Ford pickup rear fender, looks great. Overall a great company to buy from. The bracket lacks dimensions in the description, and the tech department was unable to confirm what those dimensions should have been if the part was manufactured correctly. In the end it was easier to have it milled (at an extra cost) than to return it and wait for a replacement.

I will be mounting a GM 10 SI alternator to this bracket on a '39 Ford Deluxe. Is the bracket curve concentric with the alternator housing so I will be able to use the stock alternator fan blade? OD is 5 3/8".

I am hoping this bracket and the Offenhauser flathead alternator pulley p/n 56010999 will work on a 1937 21 stud v-8 motor. My question is "will the pulleys line up or would I have to alter the bracket ?
