PerTronix 1281 Details

Never change points again with the PerTronix Ignitor points conversion kit. It provides increased voltage for improved performance and fuel efficiency. The system completely eliminates the contact points and fits neatly underneath the distributor cap for a "stock" look. Compatible with all 12 volt negative ground systems.

PerTronix Ignitor Systems can be used with any stock point-type coil, or use the Flame-Thrower 40,000 volt coil for maximum performance. Also compatible with MSD ignition boxes.

started changing point when in high school ....hanging out with older gear heads....new vehicles don't use points like the older vehicles.....bought a 61 Thunderbird and the first thing I did was to replace the points with PerTronix electronic ignition....it was a drop in replacement and the vehicle started the first attempt.....didn't even have to adjust the timing.....completely satisfied with this product

The igniter was so easy to install that it may have taken 15 minutes or so. My old truck has never started so easy and quick since I've had her in the last 30 or so years. I would recommend anyone who has a vehicle with points to get a pertronix igniter. I am very happy with the product and would by again.
