The Street Fire Capacitve Discharge Ignition is perfect for performance enthusiasts with a tight budget. The ignition offers capacitive discharge technology and will fire a series of multiple sparks that last for 20° of crankshaft rotation when the engine is running at lower rpm. This ensures combustion of the air/fuel mixture and produces great throttle response and smooth idle.
The CDI is built around a durable cast aluminum housing and easily connects to points, amplifiers and magnetic pickup distributors. An adjustable rev limiter will protect the engine in the event of driveline failure. This rpm is adjustable with rotary dials in 100 rpm increments. If you have a 4, 6 or 8-cylinder engine, the Street Fire CDI will connect and fire it up! Covered by CARB E.O. # D-40-43
Features:
- Capacitive discharge technology
- Multiple sparks improve starting and idle
- Full power output at high rpm
- Easily connects to points, amplifiers and magnetic pickup distributors
- Adjustable rev limiter for overrev protection

Had an old ProComp CDI installed, on a '53 flathead V8. Engine would start and run at idle but misfired with crazy spark timing on opening throttle. Performed multiple tests. Finally replaced with MSD unit and solved the problem.

I need clarification of the question "will msd 5520 streetfire ignition work with pro comp distributor part number 9108351 and what is the wiring configuration?" I have the 9108351 Distributor - it did not have a plug as shown in the Instructions, just a loose Red Wire & a loose Black Wire - also did not get the PN8860 Harness shown in the Instructions. Is it normal for there to be no plug? I bought the ProComp CDI Box but it does not work so is being returned. I bought the 5520 CDI Box above to replace it and it is to be shipped Monday. Instructions for 5520 say the Violet Wire is + and the Green Wire is -. To avoid frying something I need to know where my Distributor's Red & Black Wires go...which is + and which is -? Thank you.
