Lokar's Nostalgia Ford C4 and C5 Shifter is designed with 2 bends in the lever and a black mushroom knob for a nostalgic hot rod look. It has 23" lever, Teflon-lined Safety-Lock-Out button, main plate, and side brackets.

Very disapointed
I was under the impression that the Lokar products were quality products. While I have no beef with the materials, I am very disappointed in the function. There is no detent for the "drive" position. The only thing that keeps it from falling down to "second" is friction obtained by tightening the nuts on the cross shaft. This is by design according to their tech support. Secondly, per the instructions, if you mount the shifter in the position closest to the engine you must buy their bell crank kit. Engineering missed on this one. Physics won't allow a large lever to actuate a smaller lever and deliver the same movement to the transmission lever. I have consulted with their customer service on all of this, and was nice and polite. Their response to my problems was "You must have a slightly different transmission" It's a freaking C4. That is what this is advertised for. I'll make it work, but I am deeply disappointed in Lokar.

Ford 1968 C4 3 speed auto, no OD. How do you know which gear you are in? I see the data is on the knob but, is this somehow done mechanically on the knob? I have seen where we can purchase an electronic set up that will show location and gear. Thanks, John
