Our original Hot Rod Steering Column has been a huge success, but many rodders said they wanted one with a turn signal.
The Nostalgia Columns offer a similar vintage look but have modern GM-style turn signal, hazard light and horn functions built into the attractive bell-shaped upper housings.
Perfect for a wide variety of 1920's through 1950's era rods, as well as Cobras and other kit cars.
The columns measure 30" long and have 3/4"-36 spline lower shafts. They're available with paintable stainless steel housings.
Note: This column will not work with Speedway 9 bolt steering wheel adapters. This column will work Grant adapter 410-3196 or any 1969-94 GM style steering wheel or steering wheel adapter.
- Overall length from end of lower splined shaft to upper end of housing around turn signal assembly is 30"
- This shaft extends past housing approximately 1-5/8"
- End of shaft for steering wheel or adapter is 11/16" x 36 spline
- Main housing is 1-3/4" O.D.
- Housing at top for turn signal is 4" in diameter and 2-5/16" tall or deep
- Wire loom exits main column is 5-1/8" below the turn signal housing
- Wire loom is approximately 23" long and has the GM style flat plug installed
- Wire loom has 8 wires for horn, turn signal and flashers
- Lower end of shaft is 3/4" x 36 spline
- M14x1.5 nut that uses a 22mm wrench to fasten the steering wheel
- Accepts 1969-94 GM style steering wheel or steering wheel adapter
Comes with stainless turn signal lever and flasher button, horn wire pigtail and spring.

Affordable quality
Wanted a simple solution for my bellytank build, this fit the bill. Haven't finished the steering yet, so can't speak to function. Finish quality of the metal is fairly rough, even for an "unfinished" product. It may take a couple coats of primer before paint can go on and not look textured. Overall, satisfied!

Nice column, works well when cold, not as well when hot
Installed in a Cobra replica with BBF. It works well and turns smoothly when cold, but sticks after a hot soak or in stop and go traffic. When that happens the steering doesn't turn as smootly and binds a bit before releasing. The effort is also higher than when cold. I suspect the steering shaft is expanding with heat, as is the plastic bushing at the bottom of the shaft - which is only about 6" above the headers. This column would be much better with a proper bearing at the bottom of the shaft instead of a plastic bushing. Anybody know what size bearing I could use to replace the bushing? By my reckoning it s/b 0.75" ID and about 1.625" OD. A 6203-3/4-2RS may work, but it's only 40mm diameter and would have to be shimmed (perhaps a couple layers of heat shrink tubing). Thoughts?

The fit and finish are great, especially at this price. I do have a problem with the excessive gap between the column housing and my Ididit steering wheel adapter. I'm going to machine a delrin spacer that will fit behind the lower circlip next to the delrin bearing to reduce the gap to a more acceptable level. That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars.
