Fitment note: Because different versions of the 700R4 exist with different bolt spacing, we recommend measuring your existing cover before purchasing! This cover fits passenger car transmissions only, where the OEM cover is attached with 4 small coarse thread screws. This cover will NOT fit pick up / truck transmission applications where an OEM cast aluminum cover is attached with 4 or 6 metric thread bolts. Modifications may be required for proper fitment.

Customers appreciate the dust cover's fitting, quality, and durability as it's made from sturdy gauge steel with a nice black coating. Customers have experienced both perfect and incompatible fittings, recommending the product especially for the right applications. However, some reported the need for modifications such as trimming, stretching, and re-drilling. A recurring suggestion from customers is that the product should come with its mounting bolts. Despite criticisms, customers still praised the part's well-made, robust, and practical design. This product stands out for its ability to fit most transmissions and high quality at a great price.

Good Part, my mistake!
This cover was exactly as advertised, well made and would have bolted right up if I had a normal depth oil pan on my engine. My 700-R4 tranny is bolted to a 383 stroker engine which means the oil pan is deeper than a stock oil pan so, I don't have as much room to fa-niggle the cover in/around and behind the pan to get it in place to bolt up and I didn't want to substantially modify the cover to make it work. My remedy was to order the plastic (universal) version of the cover, make the starter cut-out and it bolted right up and looks great. FYI, on my car the plastic cover is a tad bit shallower at the bottom of the flywheel and would rub slightly when tightened. That was remedied by sliding the cover slightly right or left to adjust the alignment to eliminate the rubbing.

Not even close to fitting
I bought two of these for 2 700R4 projects. The covers didn't fit either transmission. Not even close to fitting! I could make one from scratch in the time it would take to modify these parts. I don't suggest using these parts. Speedway needs to take these off the market or determine what they actually fit.

I had to trim the back where it hit the transmission. Maybe this fits a different 700R4 but it certainly didn't fit mine. I don't mind modifying parts so I'm happy with it, but many would be frustrated about it not fitting properly.

Will this product attach to my 1966 corvette, 327-300 and the 700r4 tranny installed in place of the original powerglide? Is this a bolt on job or not?
