Assembled by Professionals

Hand-assembled by trained experts in-house, our Ford 9-inch third members are built from quality components with an exact step-by-step process. We bring this combination of precision assembly and quality components to you at a price that can’t be beat. We trust these third members so much, they’re the go-to choice for our own rides, from the street to the track.

If you’re looking for a complete third member for your Ford 9-inch rear end housing, but want the added performance of a limited slip differential, Speedway Motors now offers you a 9" Ford street 3rd member for your street rod, muscle car or truck. We start with a Currie CE-4026C Ford "N" nodular iron carrier housing and then install bearings, seals, a heavy duty "Daytona" pinion support, a 1310-series yoke, and your choice of ring-and-pinion ratios. The 1310-series yoke is the correct size for many Ford applications with cups 1-1/16 inch in outside diameter and a span of 3-7/32 inch across.

Note - Speedway Motors Differential 3rd members come with a 1310 Universal Joint (U-Joint) series yoke. No other Yoke size options are available.

1310 series U-Joint and Bearing Cap Reatainers Not Included - Sold Seperatly

F9-Plus Sportsman gear case is a 100% new unit cast out of 65,000 p.s.i. nodular iron and features 3.062" carrier bearing bores. Case is complete with caps, cap bolts, billet spanner nuts, and spanner nut retainers. Horsepower limit is approximately 600.

These Ford 9 inch third member assemblies feature a Richmond Powertrax Grip Pro limited slip differential available in 28 or 31 spline axle shaft configurations. This helical gear differential is perfect for light-to-medium weight street vehicles where one wants posi-action without the adverse handling effects or noise of a full locker. Because there are no friction plates, there is no friction modifier additive necessary.

All third members are assembled by our team of professionals and are delivered to you in a handy plastic carrying case, for an overall value that can’t be beat.

Available in your choice of 3.50, 3.70, 3.89, 4.11 or 4.56 gear ratio.

I looked at purchasing pieces for my ford 9", then I looked at the complete package from speedway and it made much more sense. For the price and quality and my application, it was a better option for me to buy a complete third member from speedway. Great company with awesome tech support and customer service.

I have a 54' Chevy 3100 1/2 ton truck with an LS Vortec motor out of an 03' Tahoe with a 4L80E transmission. What gearing would you recommend with this setup i have? I plan to use 18"-20" wheels on the truck. Haven't decided yet. Will be used for street use and not race. Thanks
