Flex-A-Lite 239 Details

The revolutionary, patent-pending Flex-Wave™ LoBoy electric fan from Flex-A-Lite® has greater airflow, is more efficient and is quieter than traditional S-blade and straight-blade designs. The Flex-Wave fan moves up to 20 percent more airflow than Flex-A-Lite Trimline fans, and up to 33 percent more airflow than the comparable electric fans from the competitors!

This 16-inch Flex-Wave LoBoy fan moves 3,000 cfm of airflow and an extremely thin, 3 3/16-inch depth.

Converting from a belt-driven fan to a Flex-A-Lite electric fan frees up wasted horsepower and increases gas mileage. When used as an auxiliary fan, these units will provide additional cooling.

More than having just a different look, the Flex-Wave electric-fan blade has several aerodynamic advantages for air movement:

  • The leading edge of the fan blade is no longer a single, solid line. The sine-wave design creates leading edges that cut through the air first. This starts movement in the air around the blade with greater efficiency.
  • The wave surface of the blades creates channels for the air to move along, producing more airflow and reducing energy losses.
  • The wave surface forms a winglet at the tip of the blade, further increasing efficiency by reducing air vortices.
  • The trailing edge of the fan blade also has variations, which reduces wind noise.
  • 30 amp fuse rating
  • 18.5 Amp draw
  • 16-1/2 x 16 x 3-3/16 Inch
  • 3,000 CFM
  • 10 blades
  • Air movement direction: Pusher

Overall Assessment

Customers have mixed reactions to the product. On a positive note, the product has proven effective in remedying overheating problems, notably bringing down operating temperatures as it worked great for a user's 454 model. This affirms its main feature of enhancing engine performance. However, some express concerns about the product's quality and safety. For one, it has been described as unusually loud, likened to a jet engine. More critically, a user reported about the fan disintegrating and the blades flying dangerously, causing damage to his new radiator. These experiences may be related to mounting and material quality issues, questioning its reliability and longevity.

Moves a lot of air.

After having cooling issues with a smaller puller fan, then less issues but still not enough cooling with a 3000 cfm puller fan I added this 3000 cfm pusher. With both fans there is a lot of air movement. My car now cools down a few degrees when idling in traffic from what it runs on the highway, so it appears the airflow is quite sufficient.

Disintegrated on First Ride

Mounted this new design fan to my brand new radiator using the instructions and mounting kit I purchased. First, it sounds like a jet engine. It's so loud you cannot hear the motor - and I'm running glas-packs. We drove the car for the first time lass than a mile. On the way back to the house, the unit came apart and fan blades went flying in every direction - including into my new radiator. I've got it on video. Really sad. Terrible quality from a trusted brand. DO NOT BUY THIS.

This fan is awesome, yes it's loud but your engine should be louder. Never regretted it for a moment. Solved all cooling problems.
