Ultimate Cooling Performance

You need a fan shroud. Closing off the area of the radiator core that's not covered by the fans makes those electric fans way more effective at pulling air through the core. And that moving air makes a big difference in cooling an unruly hot rod engine. Trouble is, certain fan layouts mean that a big chunk of the radiator can be covered by the shroud. That may be fine around town when the fans are handling the majority of airflow through the radiator, but out on the road it can mean trouble. When the car and engine are at speed, that air being forced through the radiator can really help to keep things cool. If the shroud is blocking the radiator tubes, you’re essentially closing off that part of the radiator.

That's where these Fan Shroud Rubber Bypass Flaps comes in. When you're sitting in traffic with the fan running, they’re closed against the shroud. Keeping things closed off lets the fans work as they should. Hit the road and they open up to allow all that fresh air through the core, allowing you to have the best of both worlds.

Designed for Speedway Motors Fan Shrouds, Works with Most Aluminum Shrouds

Speedway Motors Aluminum Fan Shrouds (sold separately) are pretty trick. They’re a direct fit for our Aluminum Radiators and are available for both dual and single fans. They fit over the top lip of the radiator for a clean look and easy installation. They are also a perfect candidate for some extra airflow via rubber bypass flaps. This kit gets you the rubber flaps in quantities of 2, 4, 6, or 8. It also includes a slick aluminum template to make layout and installation a breeze. This is everything you need to put bypass vents where you want them and make them exactly the right size for maximum performance. The template precisely locates the #31 drill holes where the rubber flaps snap into place and 3/8 drill holes for clean corners. Though this kit was designed to complement Speedway Motors shrouds, it will work on most aluminum shrouds with flat areas.

These work great

These do exactly what you think they would and the metal template is great, even includes the drill bit size engraved in the template. I ordered replacement flaps at the same time just in case but I probably did not need to. Definitely made a difference for heat rejection on the highway.

Template is made for speedway flaps. Several would not lay flat, and Spal flaps do not fit the template.

Ls swapped a 57 bel air and was having a hard time running cool on hot days. Installed four and now temperature stays constant not bouncing high and staying there. And fan doesn't kick on as fast or as hard.
