Don't ruin your new steel roller cam by running the wrong distributor gear. Install one of these quality bronze distributor gears. A stock cast iron gear is not compatible with a steel camshaft and can cause serious damage.

Feature a high-strength tooth design that resists wear, even when used with high-pressure oil pumps.
Use bronze distributor gears to eliminate gear galling and breaking.
Recommended for use with performance steel alloy and billet cams.

For race/ off road use or for use on pre-1966 vehicles.

Emissions warning: this part only legal for sale or use in California for racing (competition) vehicles which may never be used, registered, or licensed for use upon a public highway, or if installed in vehicles model-year 1965 or older; motorcycles model-year 1977 or older; or off-highway recreational vehicles (such as off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles) model-year 1996 and older. Is it generally a smarter idea to use a BRONZE distributor gear than a usual steel or what have you? I am running a SPEEDWAY camshaft along with a MOROSO DURAFIRE distributor with the gear that came with it..I am seeing unusual wear on my distributor gear that is concerning me. I dont know if its the CAM or gear on the distributor thats not right. I am thinking if I run a BRONZE distributor gear it will atleast help slow the possible wear on the cam...are there any downsides to that? THANKS
