DEI 050508 Details
Boom Mat offers this heat and sound insulation floor and tunnel shield in a 21" x 48" sheet. Protect yourself from radiant heat from entering the driver compartment and also from road, tire, and engine noise. Boom Mat has constructed this shield from 10 mil aluminum bonded to a finely woven layer of high temperature resistant glass fiber. Perfect for firewalls, under-vehicle, floor pans, oil tank box areas, transmission tunnels, wrapping fuel cells and under hoods. Will also work great for any application you can think of because it can adhere to almost any surface including fiberglass.

I like how the sheet is fairly stiff but still conforms to the contours of the car. Also, I won't be worried that the adhesive will come loose. I'm still building the car so I haven't experienced the sound and thermal qualities yet.
