A Tough, Yet Easy to Use Throttle Linkage for Your CT525 Sprint Car
Due to the narrow confines of the traditional sprint car chassis the driver sits centered in the chassis, straddling the transmission/drivetrain. This places the driver’s right foot at the far right of the chassis centerline, which also means the accelerator pedal and throttle linkage, or cable, will exit the right side of the firewall. For injected sprint cars this is a non-issue, but when converting a standard sprint car chassis over to the GM Performance CT525 sealed LS race engine for the Pro Sprint class series the right side linkage becomes an issue with an LS circle track engine, as the CT525 used in this class is carbureted.
The easiest solution is a right side to left side cross shaft carburetor linkage adapter of some sort. Sure, you can cobble together some fittings and make a throttle linkage of your own for your CT525 crate engine, but some Frankenstein linkage is no doubt not the way to go when you have the throttle pinned and you need to let off for traffic. Will the throttle stick? Will the linkage fail, or twist causing it to bind up? No one wants that. The best solution for a safe and smooth operating carburetor linkage for your LS circle track engine is one designed exclusively for the CT525 crate engine series. Our carburetor linkage designed to mount via the 4150 carburetor mounting pad on your CT525 crate engine’s intake manifold is just the answer.
We use 1/2-inch 6061-T651 aluminum plate for our mounting base to ensure a strong and rigid mounting solution for our throttle linkage, while being as light as possible. Anodized in black for great looks and corrosion protection, the mounting base is compatible with our CT525 crate engine restrictor plate used on the Pro Sprint LS circle track engine. When stacking our restrictor plate and throttle linkage plate together, you will need longer carburetor studs to the tune of approximately 3-inches in length or longer depending upon your carburetor base thickness and type of gaskets being used.
Attached to that robust CNC machined mounting plate is a 5/16-inch throttle shaft crafted from 6061-T6 aluminum bar that is supported via a pair of robust steel heim assemblies. Billet throttle arms and 10-32 swedged tubes with heim ends provide infinite adjustment to ensure your carburetor linkage operates fully and without binding to ensure you have 100 percent throttle opening. An adjustable return spring anchor is included that simply threads into the aluminum base plate and is secured via the included lock nut. Don’t trust your sprint car and your safety to some cobbled together linkage from used bits out of your toolbox. Install our CT525 crate engine throttle linkage plate and know your Pro Sprint will make it through the race with one less thing to be concerned about so you can concentrate on the race itself.

Was exactly what I wanted. Fit great. Only thing that seam effy is the way the levers clamp onto the rod.

Bit of a mechano set to assemble, instructions and diagram was handy. Suggestion to include 2 x lock nuts for the base plate rod ends. Purchased 2 at the local hardware store. Looks good can't wait to try it on the engine.
