Installation Tips

For offroad use only. The following must be considered when using Bassett wheels for on highway/street use when the wheel/tire assembly is being balanced. Bassett wheels are lug centric, which means they are built off of, and must be balanced using, the bolt circle and NOT the wheel center hole. Improper use of a tire balancer that centers the wheel on the hub bore, not the bolt circle, will result in an incorrect reading for rim runout as the center hole is not in the perfect center of the bolt pattern. The only machine capable of performing a lug centric balance is the Hunter GSP 9700 with the flange plate bolt circle adapter and no centering cone.

Bassett 505SR55 Details

For more than 30 years, Bassett Wide-Five wheels have dominated the circle track wheel market. Bassett offers three advantages: 1) low runout 2) high strength 3) the lowest weight possible. There are too many past and current champions to list. The choice of top late model, pro stock, late model stock and NASCAR Tour-type modified racers and car builders. What's the secret to Bassett's Wide-Five wheel superiority? The Bassett Cornering Fatigue Testing Apparatus. It allows them to test new designs and know they'll work BEFORE the wheel hits the track. It's the reason why a Bassett Wide-Five wheel will last 3 times longer than any other wide-five wheel on the market - even those weighing five lbs. more!Bassett's Armor Edge reinforced bead flange provides unmatched durability. The ARMOR EDGE Bead FlangeOur 15x10, 15x12, 15x13, 15x14 and 15x15 Wide-Five wheels now feature a reinforced front bead flange (pictured at left) for increased durability in close-quarters, short track racing and during tire mounting/dismounting. The Bassett Armor Edge wheel rolls over the flange lip to double the thickness and create a strong crush zone.NOTE: For easier tire mounting, these wheels do not have a tire safety bead. For dirt applications, make sure you select a wheel with a safety bead at the time of order.
