Details
It doesn't get any simpler than this! Our most basic T-bucket frame is engineered for a simple and economical coil spring rear suspension with traditional-style radius rods. The front suspension is our time-tested transverse-leaf, spring-behind-axle setup with hairpin-style radius rods. Designed for the do-it-yourselfer, this frame has no front shock mounts - you can fabricate your own or choose from those offered by Speedway!
Shown with optional rearend and engine mounts installed. This part number does not include a rear axle housing or engine/transmission mounts (as pictured). If you wish to add these items to your chassis, simply purchase these items along with your frame kit.
Rear Axle Housing Option:
Part# 715700 - Speedway Ford 9 Inch Rear Axle Housing Kit for T-Bucket Chassis, 31-Spline, 56 Inch Width.
- Includes an all-new housing, tubes and new-style big Ford ends, lifetime warranty, 31-spline axles with dual bolt pattern (5 on 4.5" and 5 on 4.75") and new axle bearings.
- Necessary suspension brackets will be welded to the housing, according to which chassis you order.
- Option is only available with the purchase of a T-Bucket frame.
- Center section NOT included.
Engine / Transmission Crossmember options available:
Part# 715500 - Small Block Chevy and TH350 Auto Trans Mount Option For T Frame Kit
- This T frame kit option includes tubular engine and transmission crossmembers welded into a '23 or '27 T-Bucket frame. Will accept S/B Chevy engine and TH-350 or TH-400 transmissions.
Part# 715600 - Small Block Ford and C4 Auto Trans Mount Option for T Frame Kit
- This T-frame option will include tubular engine and transmission crossmembers welded into your '23 or '27 T-Bucket chassis. Will accept S/B Ford engine and C-4 transmission only.
- Due to clearance issue with the Vega steering box, you will need to either remote mount the oil filter or make use of the 90 degree oil filter adaptor # 910-6880.
Note: When ordering either of these options with a T-Bucket frame kit, the frame will be shipped with these crossmembers welded to it. As such, this engine/transmission crossmember option must be ordered with a T frame kit. This is not available separate of a T frame kit.
All of our T kits are also available with chrome suspension. This option includes chrome plated: front and rear hairpins, rear coilovers, front axle, front leaf spring, front shocks, steering arms, tie rod, drag link, and related hardware.
This item requires a 3-4 week build time.
Features:
- 1-1/2 X 3" Rectangular steel tube frame with 102" wheelbase
- Rear crossmember is c-notched for added rear axle clearance
- 3" O.D. round tube front crossmember
- Spring-behind front suspension with 4" drop tube axle and hairpin radius rods
- Choice of '37-'48 Ford or '49-'54 Chevy-style spindles with king pins fitted

Customers appreciate our frame's solid construction and affordability, with many praising its reliability for repeat use. Its design allows for customization and offers a strong base for various projects, such as a 1957 Thames panel or a 1923 Ford T bucket roadster. However, some customers recommend an adjustment to the welded brackets for better alignment with rear hairpin holes. Despite some size issues related to engine installation, users find solutions to modify the frame to their requirements, solidifying its versatility. The product's quality and adaptability ultimately stand out, with many customers willing to repurchase and recommend.

Went together well. All components except the shock towers and front shackles and shocks. Bought separately and striped and welded 8.3/4 Chrysler rear with included hardware.

The frame kit all came shipped perfectly. Took it all apart to paint it. Then went to put it back together and noticed one of the welded brackets that are on the rear, the holes didn't match up to the rear hairpin. By about a 1/2 inch. I had to use a scissor Jack to spread the hairpin holes just to get the bolts in. Also I bought a sbc blueprint engine for it. Had the sbc engine mounts welded in by speedway before it shipped. Once I got the engine and went to install it realized it doesn't fit. Engine had a normal mechanical fuel pump on it and was hitting the frame. Wasn't even close. When I called speedway about it they just told me to buy an electric fuel pump!! Really. You guys welded it on! There's nothing that says when you buy our kit that you can't use a certain type of fuel pump. Thankfully I was able to find a smaller one. But only gives me about 1/8" of clearance. Seems to be the ongoing thing I've found out with speedway parts. In the end it all came together. Speedway, recheck your jigs.

I bought this frame to build a 1957 Thames panel. The frame allowed for me to have an initial base which I know is square and right with all of the components i would have had to buy separately. There will be much modification to make the frame work for the application; however, still a great start. My head is flooded with ideas for new projects after this customers car is done.

kit should have included some type of front shock absorber syster, friction or hydralic. Though for what it is it's a good starter kit. Kit set up well for installation of other major components. Good kit, would recommend.

I choose the basic 23 kit because I love the traditional style but I still wanted to be able to add my own touch. The frame kit supplied me with a solid very well made foundation that I can build my dream car on.
