Now you can easily mount a modern, fully synchronized GM manual transmission to your early Ford or Mercury Flathead V8 engine! This is a great way to get better drivability and improved performance from your 1932-48 Ford or 1939-50 Mercury Flathead.

This aluminum adapter permits the use of most GM-style 3-, 4- or 5-speed Muncie, Borg Warner, Saginaw and T-5 manual transmissions behind your Flathead V8s. Adapter is used in conjunction with Flathead flywheel and hydraulic throwout bearing.

Mounts common Muncie, Borg Warner, Saginaw and T-5 GM style manual transmissions. For use with hydraulic throwout bearing (our part #910-25610). For use with a diaphragm-style pressure plate.  Use with original flathead flywheel (re-drilling of the pressure plate bolt pattern may be required)

Kit includes:

  • Transmission Adapter

  • Bearing Spacer
  • GM Trans to Flathead Pilot Bushing

Bolted right up - no problem. Hydraulic clutch installation instructions were excellent. Speedway recommends the use of a 3/4 inch bore master cylinder but tried it out with my existing (5/8 inch bore) master cylinder and it works fine. fyi: I used the clutch disk and pressure plate from the doner S10 that I got the T5 transmission from - just had to drill and tap the flathead flywheel to accept the pressure plate.

The stud holes in a Borg Warner T-5 transmission are M8 (metric) and you only supply 5/16 and 3/8 studs. I thing the metric stud should be included as now I have to drive 30 miles round trip to get a metric bolt to make into a similar stud.

Great part, fantastically made part no need for the Offenhauser kit unless you want the name. fits like a glove. Easy to install with many options for clutch set ups in case I'm not happy with hydraulic throughout bearing. Only thing I didn't like was the hydraulic throughout bearing uses a #2 A/N fitting and didn't like using conversion fittings. But not a big deal
