ATK HPDFDV HP Remanufac. Ford Modular V8 5.4L VVT Lock Out Engine

ATK’s HPDFDV is a remanufactured Ford Modular 5.4L (330ci) SOHC crate engine built as a VVT/phaser lock-out replacement. Each unit is torn down and remanufactured using a repeatable process where the heads, block, crankshaft, and camshaft are machined as needed, wear components are replaced, and the finished engine is validated with compression testing, oil pressure testing, and a sealed water jacket check.

This engine comes assembled with the VVT/phaser lockout kit already installed, along with the timing cover and oil pan in place to streamline installation. It’s configured for 16mm spark plugs (black boots) and references timing cover casting numbers 3L3E-GA/GD and 7L3E-AB/CA. It’s a long-block style setup: aluminum cylinder heads and a cast-iron block are included, but major accessories and top-end components—like the intake manifold, throttle body, valve covers, water pump, harmonic balancer, flexplate/flywheel, ignition parts, and engine electronics—are not included. It also includes a handheld tuner so the related function can be shut off in the vehicle to support the lockout configuration.
