ATK Engines HPDFDN Details

ATK’s HPDFDN is a high-performance remanufactured Ford Modular 5.4L SOHC crate engine built with a consistent, repeatable reman process—core components like the heads, block, crankshaft, and camshaft are machined, wear items are replaced, and the finished engine is tested for compression, oil pressure, and a sealed water jacket. It’s designed as a ready-to-install long-block style solution for vehicles that use the Ford Modular 5.4L family.

This package comes set up with a VVT/phaser lockout kit already installed (follow the included instructions), plus the timing cover and oil pan installed to simplify your swap/repair. It’s configured for 12mm thread spark plugs (brown boot) and uses timing cover castings #3L3E-GA/GD and 7L3E-AB/CA. The engine is assembled, internally balanced, cast-iron block with aluminum cylinder heads, and an advertised 9.0:1 compression ratio.

Keep in mind what’s not included: no intake manifold, throttle body/carb, valve covers, water pump, balancer, flexplate/flywheel, ignition pieces, or electronics. Notes indicate a cam/phaser DOD lockout installed and a handheld tuner is included so it can be shut off in the vehicle.
