ATK Engines HP116 Details

The ATK HP116 Chevy LM7 5.3L base engine is a high-performance build producing 500 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, based on an OE LM7 5.3L iron block with a bore and stroke of up to 3.903" x 3.622", resulting in 347 cubic inches of displacement. It features an OE GM 24-tooth reluctor wheel crankshaft, powder metal connecting rods, and hypereutectic pistons with a 10.1:1 compression ratio, paired with moly rings for durability. The valvetrain includes a custom performance hydraulic roller camshaft, OE 1.7 ratio rocker arms with trunnion upgrades, and AFR CNC-ported aluminum cylinder heads with 59cc combustion chambers and 200cc intake runners for optimized airflow. It comes equipped with a Melling M295 oil pump and is designed to work with stock EFI or aftermarket intake manifolds, 36lb injectors, and 1 5/8" or larger headers. Proper ECM tuning is required for optimal performance, and it is recommended to use 91+ octane fuel, a 2200+ stall converter, and a quality oil filter such as Wix or K&N.

Application

Designed for 1999-2020 Chevy Applications.  This engine can replace the 2001-2007 Chevy 4.8/5.3/6.0L engines with proper upgrades. ECM MUST BE TUNED and injectors must be upgraded; not doing so can damage the engine.
