Will this work with the aluminum edelbrock intake for a 1949. And here is another question which way is the rod orientated the smaller end down or the end with the clip down toward the block.

Will this work on '53 mecury with a weiand aluminum intake? I have a 1953 Mercury 255 cubic inch engine and I am using a weiand 3x2 aluminum intake. I am in search of a fuel pump push rod that will fit the intake and a mechanical fuel pump that will flow enough for the 3 carburetors.
