This complete front and rear independent suspension kit contains everything you need to build a great foundation for your fat-fendered 1935-1940 Ford. There is no welding required and all components bolt together.

Component Features:

1935-40 Ford Frame Rails (91603540): Laser cut C-channel frame rails welded on a rail fixture to ensure correct curvature with all OEM holes pre-drilled for ease of assembly.

1935-40 Ford Bolt-In Tubular X-member (91063540): Designed for stoc, original 1935-40 Ford frames and made of 1-1/2" O.D. .095" wall steel tubing. Includes bolt-in boxing plates, drop-out transmisson mount, brake pedal and booster/master cylinder mount and hardware. Accepts standard GM automatic transmission mounting as well other popular transmissions and works with 2" exhaust tubing.

Bolt-in Brake Pedal Kit (91073540): Designed for use with our OEM replacement Tubular X-member for 1935-40 Fords.

1935-40 Ford Bolt-In Rear Frame Cross Support (91083540): Bolt in channeled rear support and gussets for'35-'40 Ford cars. Includes a crossmember and the bolts to attach it.

Note: This crossmember must be used with the non-strut rod type lower control arms. As designed, it will not work with stock type or the O/E type lower control arms that make use of a strut rod.

My first real hot rod undertaking. Previous builds were military jeeps and british. I bought to save money as the car I have had a hacked up frame and weird engine I had to litterally cut out of the car. I spent a lot of time over thinking the assembly. Put the cross assembly in and generally use the measurements on the side frames to locate. Used 2" ratchet straps to pull rails in as tight as possible to the x frame and it squared up to 1/8" diagonally. Only adjustment was fore and aft to get the trans mount to measurements re-cinch done. Then added mustang 2 frame to it. Towers to the mustang 2 had to be returned as the bolt holes didn't line up but Speedway sent a whole assembly!. The front of the frame rails were about an inch wide so I used two angle iron braces ; slit the frame top and bottoms both sides, squared it up and re-welded. It is perfect. The triangulated rear with no instructions was the same. Over thought it. The frame mounts only go in one way. I had to heat up the rear most top pieces and massage them in. There was no way to move them once in but when in they were exactly the same measured location side to side. Put in bars with threaded all the way in and location is exactly 1" too far to the rear. I've heard this is actually better for the look of the vehicle. No issue if I want 112" as I simply will cut off 1". Every bolt, spacer , fitting etc is perfect. I am going back with a 1950 Merc flatty so I had to notch out the front where the radiator goes and make custom motor mounts (no one has them for mustang II) I am going to box in some areas of the frame but I am glad I went this way. love the rear axle assembly. Saved several thousand going this route and i really like how it turned out.

I spent 7 grand on this chassis and all the "bolt on accessories " that go with it. The K member that comes with the kit bolts together nicely, but after following the instructions to the letter , the dimensions for the frame are way off the width of the rear is 3.5 inches to wide , none of the holes for the k member are pre drilled in the k member or the frame. the frame rails have no pre drilled holes for the speedway recommended IFS front end i bought for the chassis . Don't have the time to ship back and hope the next one is right, so if you expect to just buy this chassis and bolt it together with all the parts speedway says will bolt right on , your sadly mistaken. If you still purchase this kit be prepared to cut ,drill and lay out the bulk of this project yourself.

I have this frame. I am pleased with it. Now as I am assembling the rest of the car I find I need or want to use a hydraulic clutch and I would like to mount under the floor using the mount. It came with the underfloor brake pedal. Do you have an under floor brake/hydraulic clutch mount for this?

Could this setup be used for a T-bucket instead of 35-40 Ford? If so, would the 2" drop Mustang II front end work on a T? My plan is to use a 4 cyl. engine and 5 spd trans for a T-bucket build, but I would rather use the Must II front end instead of a strait axle. Or, can the Mustang II front end be put on one of your T-bucket frames? Thanks.
