Check out this complete brake package for the modified Speedway Motors  '49-'54 Chevy car spindles. These kits feature aluminum hubs, drilled steel rotors, 4-piston aluminum calipers, bearings, seals, steel brackets, and all necessary hardware. Hubs are drilled for both 5 x 4.5" and 5 x 4.75" bolt patterns.

  • Forged Dynalite four-piston calipers - black finish
  • Polymatrix D brake pads
  • .35" wide x 10-3/4" diameter solid steel rotors - black finish
  • Caliper has a 1/8" NPT inlet
  • Fits Speedway Motors Modified Spindles

I can now stop my ls turbo powered gasser. It was pretty sketchy before this upgrade. However, the one issue with this kit is the grease sling washer that you are told to reuse from your old setup. It will not work with this kit. Once you screw down the dust cap it hits the washer and will lock the hub up from excessive pressure against the bearings. This was also stated in a previous review. Speedway, do you have a fix or replacement washer that will work for this kit? Other then that I have no complaints.

Not as advertised, kit has drilled rotors not undrilled as pictured. Don't tighten dust cap or you will lock up the hub. Use silicon sealer on dust cap threads and screw in one turn only and you are good to go. Will make odd noise during braking. If you don't mind the odd noise during braking, then no problem. May have to change brake hose. I did not. Braking power over Mustang II brakes about the same but the Mustang II brakes are silent.

2 or 4 piston brakes for none power brakes I don't want to add power brakes to my 23 T bucket. Would the 4 piston brake work better that the 2 piston with manual brakes?
