Wilwood 830-9807 Details

Wilwood's ProSpindle is specifically designed for use in fabricated A-arm suspensions on kit cars, street rods, drag cars and other custom or race applications configured around Pinto/Mustang ll suspension geometry. A redesigned one-piece forged steel body uses common Pinto and Mustang ll tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings and seals. It is lightweight yet nearly three times stronger than OE or aftermarket two-piece cast iron and steel replacement spindles.

The 2" dropped spindle pin provides the desired lowered ride height without disturbing the suspension geometry. Bolt-on steering arms are strong and can be reversed to accommodate rear steer configurations. They also allow the same spindle to be used on either side of a vehicle. Bolt-on caliper brackets attach to substantially reinforced mounting bosses on the spindle body for secure, deflection-free mounting of four or six piston calipers.

Complete Wilwood ProSpindle applicable brake kits and components including forged billet hubs, bearings, seals, locknuts, calipers, brake pads, caliper brackets, and hats or rotor plates to attach optional rotor styles from 11" to 14" are all available to configure custom brake packages and complete the installation.

Correct ball-joint info would be nice, the ones I ordered which should fit, ended up being too large and I ended up reaming the lower hole larger to fit them.

Good fit and finish. The reverse able steering arm can be very helpful to make changes you might not have considered at first glance (both length and angle). I was a little surprised that the spindle is part of the forging and not pressed in or bolted into the casting like the heits units. This does not decrease my opinion of the part because strength is not compromised and if damaged, the whole part is reasonable priced and replaceable as a unit. The weight reduction from standard Pinto is another big plus (unsprung weight).

Can these be used in conjunction with your Mustang II upper/lower control arms with coilovers? I'm looking to purchase the 47-54 chevy truck frame with bolt in crossmember and want to utilize 14" wilwood calipers/rotors. Also, which hubs are recommended for this combo - thanks!
