Nice and thick to be able to put a nice sturdy weld to keep it in place. Threads being coarse so dirt from the track doesn't cause a problem with adjustments.

This nut does not have correct thread. Had to buy a $70 tap so the car could go to the track. Speedway sent me another but it definitely has wrong thread pitch.
