Installed this Vintage Air underdash kit in my 1930 Model A, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The unit fit nicely under the dash and keeps the car cool even in the Texas heat. The components are well made, and the instructions were clear enough to make the install go smoothly.

2 things. 1) when hooking up heater hoses the unit will close off the water flow through the heater core or is an External valve required? 2) is there a need for an auxiliary fan when running ac or is a viscous fan clutch setup ok? Is there any provision to turn on an aux fan if pressures get to high?

Is the Sanden a/c compressor SD 508 R134a compatible or do I have to find r12 Refrigerant for this unit. I read that SD 508 has a new SD-7810 THAT IS R134a compatible, could I get this compressor with this kit?
