There's nothing cooler than a 3x2 intake on a vintage Chevy/Pontiac/Oldsmobile/Cadillac/Buick V8 engine, but good carburetor cores are getting expensive and hard to find! With this kit you can use three junkyard 2G small base style Rochester carbs and put together a three deuce set-up for a fraction of the cost.

Kit includes two brand new throttle body base plates for the secondary carbs, gaskets, jets, power valve, modified piston, idle tubes, plugs, hardware, and new throttle shaft and butterflies for the primary carb. This kit does not include throttle linkage, allowing you to customize the application to your specific needs.

Overall Assessment

Customers value the product for its quality and practicality in setting up Tri Power carbs on different Chevy models. Notably, the kit is appreciated for assisting in transforming manifold and carbs into a Three Deuce setup. Some consider it a time-saving solution for their projects. However, the product's usability may require prior tripower experience due to challenges with sealing the end base plate butterflies completely. The linkage is stated to be difficult to set up correctly especially with an electric choke on the primary carb. Adding the linkage was recommended as otherwise, the setup may not function correctly. Despite some functional challenges, the product is considered a complete kit with all necessary components. It also acts as a tasteful addition to the vehicles, contributing to their aesthetic appeal.

Very satisfied with the Rochester carburator bases that I purchased from Speedway. My 34 Ford Street Rod with tripower has never run as good as it does now!

I would definitely purchase this product again

The kit was very easy to assemble but I would not recommend this kit to someone unless they have some tripower experience. The end base plate butterflies do not seal completely and this causes a vacuum leak from the outside carbs and makes the tripower impossible to tune and idle. Also the idle metering tubes for the center carb are to small. Customer service sent another set of base plates for the secondary carbs but the butterflies in them were worse than the first set so I sent them back and talked to some old mechanics. Had to end up going old school and used what the GM mechanics did back in the 60's to get the butterflies to seal (DAG213). The linkage in the kit has cheap set screws that stripped out on the shafts, and the linkage is almost impossible to set up correctly if you are running an electric choke on the primary carb. Got so frustrated with the entire "TriPower" experience, I removed the it from my 32 Ford and installed a polished Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb and the car started up and ran on the first turn of the key. Now I have a very expensive tripower sitting on my shelf in my garage. At least it looks cool and is a conversation piece. They advertise this as a kit that can take junk yard 2G Rochesters and make them into a tripower. My Rochesters were all in great running condition before starting this project but myself and some very experienced engine people could not make this item work. Its a shame because it looked really cool on my 32 Ford Hiboy.

I should have gone from 5 stars 4 due to the linkage issue. Although the kit is sold with or without new linkage, don't purchase it without linkage. The cost is about $40 when purchased with the kit, but forget about using some other brand. The linkage sells separately for $90+ and it states that this linkage cannot be used on any other tri power set up. It's obvious their linkage must be used, so why sell it with or without linkage? They should at least indicate that purchasing the kit without the linkage is a big mistake! Having said that, I contacted Speedy regarding this issue and they were more than willing to work things out with me. I was impressed.

I bought these because I had heard they were better than using the stock units. When I got them the throttle plates were no where close to being sealed. After a bunch of adjustment and using some lapping compound and some sanding I got them better but not perfect. But that's hot rodding.
