I'm running an HEI on an older SBC in a C10 truck with an Edelbrock Carb with a drop base style air cleaner. I don't remember having clearance issues in my teens with a SBC/HEI with a holley carb but my clearance now is tight. Since I have plennty of hood clearance, I am adding a phenolic spacer to help with vapor lock and decided to add this drop base cleaner too. Now the air cleaner sits just above the HEI. It would have been nice if a vacuum cap was supplied with the air cleaner. I ultimately used a 5/8" heater hose bypass cap from NAPA.

Hi, will this base fit a quadrajet Rochester carb. I need a drop base. I bought a 14 x 3 air from you . But it is to high with a flat base. IF this base is not right . Do you have one that will work? It is a 1980 corvette. 350. Thank you, Fernando
