Protect your Performance Engine Build With An Oil Catch Can System

Oil catch can systems have become popular with gas direct injection (GDI) engines, as their direct injection design delivers the high pressure fuel directly to the combustion chamber vs spraying at the back of the intake valve as in traditional EFI systems. That fuel spray helps remove oil deposits and keeps the valves clean, so adding an oil catch can system to a GDI engine helps in the same manner but by removing the oil vapor from the crankcase/PCV system, increasing engine life, and reducing strain on engine seals, turbos, and more. You’ll find a lot of direct fit applications for modern GDI cars, and some manufacturers are even including oil catch can or “recovery” systems from the factory now. But what about muscle cars and other classics with modern engine swaps or performance builds with increased crankcase/blowby from turbos or superchargers? For these applications, a universal oil catch can is your best option.

Universal Mounting and Connections To Work With Any Engine

Unlike these modern GDI engines, when you’re tying up loose ends on your turbocharged LS swap, you’re not going to be able to find an LS catch can system that is a “direct fit” due to the many changes that occur with such swaps. As such, we have designed a universal PCV valve catch can kit that is sure to work on just about any application. Constructed from aluminum and CNC machined for exacting tolerances that provide a leak free installation, we powder coat it a neutral black finish that compliments any engine compartment. The 300ml capacity provides for extended drain intervals and the included threaded dipstick allows easy oil level checks to determine when a full draining of the reservoir is required. Measuring just 4.27 inches high and 2.68 inches in diameter, our oil catch can is capable of being mounted just about anywhere in your engine compartment with the included mounting bracket.

Included in our design is an internal baffle that is removable. The baffle can also be used to add additional filter media to the vented oil catch can, such as stainless steel wool or mesh to prevent aeration. The inlet and outlet ports are clearly labeled to ensure proper connection to your PCV system or valve covers. All fittings are 5/8"-18 O-ring boss, and we include hose barb fittings for multiple hose sizes (3/8-, 1/2-, and 5/8-inch) to work with your PCV or valve cover breather hose sizes. Included is 2.6 feet of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) hose with an ID of 3/8-inch to aid in connecting the oil catch can to your engine. NBR hose has excellent resistance to oil, fuel, and other chemicals, making it perfect for liquid oil and oil vapor transmission to the oil catch can kit. If you prefer to run your system as a vented oil catch can you can easily add the included breather filter to the top by swapping the plug for one of the included fittings. Ensure your engine stays clean by keeping that oil contaminates out of the intake system and your turbo or supercharger by installing our oil catch can kit. The screw on reservoir makes maintenance a breeze and you’ll see less carbon buildup and engine fouling.
