TCI Engineering 91040435 Details

Total Cost Involved Engineering’s 1935-1940 Ford Leaf Spring kit. These American-made Parabolic leaf springs are a modern implementation of traditional parabolic leaf springs. This design is characterized by fewer leafs whose thickness varies from center to ends following a parabolic curve. In this design, inter-leaf friction is unwanted, and therefore there is only contact between the springs at the ends and at the center where the axle is connected. The primary benefit of parabolic springs is better ride quality and not being as “stiff” as conventional “multi-leaf springs”. As an added bonus there are less springs which offers 28% weight savings over the 5 leaf kit previously offered.

This 1935-1940 Ford Leaf Spring kit includes everything you’ll need to install a brand new suspension into the rear of your vehicle. Everything that attaches to the chassis bolts into place. There is minimal drilling involved and we reuse factory holes as often as possible to make the installation all the more easy. The only welding required will be on your axle housing(unless a complete Currie 9? is purchased directly from TCI).

All TCI Engineering products come with our Dual Warranty. 6 Year, 60,000 Mile Warranty on wear and tear items like bushings, coil-overs, & ball joints. Any items built in-house by TCI Engineering such as link bars, control arms, spindles, crossmembers, etc come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Good solid product

The directions are somewhat confusing. There is an excellent YouTube video produced by "oldtimegarage" after Rick's guidance the install was a piece of cake. I put mine on a reproduction frame I bought from speedway and it took about 3 hours. I used a ford 8.8 rear end so I had to use different Ubolts

requires modification to fit speedway frame.

seemed to be good quality materials. but fit the speedway frame poorly. the rear frame to springhanger brackets were 1 in to narrow. only option is to cut frame in order to use them. very poor directions. shocks were 3 too short. ? i made it all work but is far from a simple bolt in. very disapointed with teck supp. too.

Everything in the kit was good EXCEPT the instructions to install the kit. There is a picture that shows the rear hangar brackets on the wrong side. The brackets have an offset that needs to face inward,...NOT outward.

Required a phone call to TCI concerning cross member installation. Found that the cross member wasn't needed. Cross member could have been eliminated and reduce the shipping cost and cost of the kit.

I installed this lit into a 1935 ford sedan model 48. Pieces are great quality and everything lined up as it should have. The reason why I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because it didn't come with directions (found some online) and it also didn't come with the bolts that mount the shocks to the top bar. No big deal though... ran to the local parts store and grabbed them. Overall I'm very happy with this kit and would definitely recommend this kit to others.

I bought this kit for my 41 ford truck but it makes it sit way too high and I don't want to use 4" off blocks to lower it to where it was with the factory transverse leaf. Can I get lowering springs that provide at least a 3" drop.
