Speedway Motors 91012360 Details

Finally an affordable distributor for you Ford guys!

Basically this is a GM HEI distributor that fits 351W Fords. It is fully self-contained and requires only one wire to hook-up. No need for an MSD box. Comes complete as shown. Just drop them in and go!

  • Main shaft is 5/16" I.D. in hex pattern
  • Housing of seal area is 1.560" O.D.
  • Distance from flange at seal area to end of shaft is 4-15/16"
  • Gear is 1.23" O.D.

It uses the GM HEI cap, rotor and module, and includes mechanical and vacuum advances.

Application

This "HEI" style distributor for 351W comes with a drive gear that works "flat tappet" hydraulic and solid lifter cams. This gear is not compatible with roller cams, and because of the "hybrid" nature of the existing gear, there are no brass or bronze gears available.

This is a time and space saver with coil built within. Only drawback is height. With coil located on top of distributor cap it's taller than the typical Ford HEI cap and several aftermarket air cleaners I tried all rested on the cap. Every intake, style of carb and air cleaner will be different. I had to test fit different Moroso bottoms for clearance. They have a good website with dimensions.
