The engine idles much smoother. When driving, it seems to rev out a little more as well. I used the 12 V to the old coil to run the HEI. The wire was a smaller gauge but seems to be running fine. Make sure and verify where top dead center is on #1 Cyl. My timing marks were way off so we had to find compression on #1 and then set up where #1 was on distributor.

Installed in my 84 f150 300. Didn't even have to run a wire for 12v, just used the coil 12v wire from old setup and pushed blade out of connector and hooked into HEI. So far running great.

WORKED ON A 85 FORD TRUCKWITH A 4.9 300. GOT TIRED OF THE OLD COMPUTER CONTROLLED CARB SO DECIDED TO PUT OLD SCHOOL CARB & AN ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM ON IT. WORKED OUT GREAT!!
