SoloSwap® Godzilla V8 Short Block Owners Can Now Add Our Mock Up Cylinder Heads

As Ford's replacement for the aging Modular 6.8L V10 SOHC engine used in Super Duty trucks, the 7.3L Godzilla engine, a clean sheet pushrod design that shocked Ford enthusiasts, debuted in the 2020 F-250 and higher Super Duty pickups. With over 20 years of Modular engine production and Ford's Coyote engine, which debuted in 2011, being one of the hottest "Ford in a Ford" engine swap ideas, the new Ford Godzilla engine has quickly become swap fodder for many Ford enthusiasts. It's not terribly hard to find a wrecked Super Duty in the salvage yard and Ford Performance and others are even offering Godzilla-based performance crate engines.

Meanwhile, you can find swap mounts, accessory drives, and more to make your Godzilla swap a near bolt-in if you have a popular chassis like a Fox Body Mustang. But what if you're trying to fit your Ford Godzilla engine swap into an early Maverick, or maybe even a classic F-100 pickup? This is where the assistance of a mock up block proves its worth. Our SoloSwap® Godzilla mock up block is the perfect solution. Offered in both long and short block versions, we now offer the long block's mock up cylinder heads separately for use with the short block version (to convert to a long block mock up solution) or to add to a production engine block casting for mock up purposes.

Laser Cut Steel Plate for Strength, Simplicity, and Easy Storage

Just like the patent pending SoloSwap® Godzilla 7.3 mock up blocks, the separately available Godzilla heads are made from the same 12-gauge steel that is laser cut, and press bent for easy assembly. These cylinder heads bolt together with the included assembly hardware and can be attached to your SoloSwap® short block or OEM engine block casting. Standard nuts and bolts are required for attaching to the SoloSwap® short block, while for use with OEM block castings 13mm bolts will be required to retain the mock up heads to the stock block. We designed our SoloSwap® Godzilla mock up heads with all accessory mounting holes accessible from the back side for simple "nut and bolt" assembly of your accessories for engine mock up, just like the matching short block. No more thread inserts that work their way out of the foam cylinder head material or even needing the factory hardware during the mock up phase. Just grab yourself any fastener of the proper length and diameter to install your headers, valve covers, or intake, saving the good installation hardware for final assembly.

Our steel mock up cylinder heads can also be easily disassembled for storage, just like our SoloSwap® mock up blocks. Unlike some steel mock up tools that utilize folding tabs that once they are bent over the mock up tool stays assembled, taking up much more room. Store your disassembled mock up heads wherever they will easily fit, such as under a workbench, on a shelf, or even in your toolbox drawer.
