Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the product's strong quality and perfect length, acknowledging it as an easy to install and practical option. Its robust performance, particularly in repurposing brakes on older vehicles, is well received. While several customers expressed dissatisfaction with the 7/16 end size, instead of the advertised 10mm, and discrepancies in the length and appearance, the product is still deemed useful and effective. Customers recommend it for its superior usability and quality compared to other brands, noting Speedway's exceptional performance. A few highlighted issues with the product not matching the picture, however, they appreciated the company's willingness to accommodate returns.

Hose quality is excellent, but size is not as described

The hoses are of excellent quality, but not what the catalog describes. They are 18" long (should be 15"), have square "block" caliper ends (should be "round"), have a hole for 7/16" (.437) caliper bolt (should be 10mm (.394)). Note: There is a different part number for the 7/16" x 18" long hose. I spoke with a Speedway rep, he informed me that since inventory was 600 sets, a decision was made the inventory would have to be sold down before the correct 10mm x 15" hoses would be available. In some instances the 18" long hoses would be an acceptable interchange (they are longer, not shorter, and the caliper bolt hole is slightly larger, not smaller). In my situation, however, the longer length would pose a problem when turning, and I also wanted the cosmetic appearance of the "round" end. Refer to the description of part numbers 617-8568 and 617-8569 for the differences as described. Speedway very generously offered a free upgrade to braided stainless hoses, but, again, I wanted the "old-school" rubber hose appearance.

Hose quality is excellent, but size is not as described

I returned the first set I ordered (product description was 15" length, but was 18", should have had banjo bolt hole for 10mm, but was for 7/16", should have had "round" caliper end, but was "block" style). Speedway replaced but with the same item, still incorrect. Spoke with tech person on the phone and he understood the situation, but apparently there is a large quantity in stock that will have to be sold down before providing the actual as-specified part number. Most people could still use what is being provided, as the hose length is longer (not shorter), and the banjo bolt hole is slightly larger (not smaller). The "round" vs. "block" end is primarily cosmetic. In my case, an 18" hose is just too long, and would drag against the tire at full lock, and I wanted the "round" caliper ends to match those on the rear of the car. Speedway has already credited my account, and I would reorder tomorrow IF I could get the product as specified in the catalog/website.

This part 617-8569 is listed in the T Bucket 2011 catalogue and listed as 16" overall length. Are they still available in that length or better still 17" instead of the 15" ones on here. Regards, Paul
