Quick Release Exhaust System Hangers Save Time and Frustration

All exhaust systems require some sort of support to prevent rattles and vibration, or worse, stress-induced cracks/fractures that can destroy your exhaust system. A popular method of support is exhaust system hangers. These exhaust pipe hangers can be clamped or welded to the exhaust system to fully support the exhaust along the length of the vehicle vs the exhaust’s weight all being on the header collectors. One of the most common designs is a weld on universal exhaust hanger that interfaces with a rubber isolator that is mounted to the vehicle’s frame or body. The one issue with this exhaust system hanger design is when the exhaust system requires servicing or removal for access to other components, the bulged end or bend on the end of the exhaust hanger rod requires excessive effort or special pliers to disassemble. Our new quick release exhaust system hanger solves this frustrating problem.

Crafted from 3/8-inch OD mild steel, our 10-inch long exhaust hanger rod can be trimmed to length as needed before welding and is pre-drilled to accept the included quick release pin. Unlike bent end or bulged end exhaust pipe hangers that induce side-to-side movement that can lead to muffler or tailpipe contact with the chassis, our universal exhaust hanger is precision trimmed for a precise fit in the included rubber isolator. The isolator itself features two 3/8-inch holes for mounting with tapping screws or through bolts (or can even be welded if careful attention is made to keeping the isolator cool while welding) but mounting hardware is not provided. Removal for servicing or access to other components is as easy as removing the retaining pin and pulling the exhaust hanger rod free from the isolator. No special exhaust pipe hanger pliers or trying to pry the exhaust hanger rod out with a prybar. Sold each, we recommend at least four hangers for the typical dual exhaust system, two for use as a muffler hanger and two for use as a tailpipe hanger to cover both sides of the dual exhaust system.
