Should work as it it should

The threaded portion is just that, a threaded aluminum tube, I would expected to see flats on it to use for installing it, I had to use pliers. The cap is nice, but like the tube is pretty simple, it just slides over the tube and the venting is accomplished by the size difference between the cap ID and the tube OD and how much the set screw pushes it over.

Could be improved tp be more universal

7/16X20 thread is kind of an odd size?? Does not fit the hole in a standard Ford 9" housing, which is probably one of the more common housing used. You could solve this problem if you included some threaded adaptors to fit all housing holes. I made one so I could use it on my Ford 9" housing ( 1/2X20 size hole). You owe me!!!

I have stock 1958 pontiac. The old parts book calls for a GM# 530301, which is a 7//16 x 20 x 9/16 part. Of course does not look like this part. Could this work?

Will this fit in the stock hole on a ford 8" or 9" rear axle? I have a ford 8" or 9" rear axle with no vent on the housing. Will this breather screw into the stock hole on the rear axle ( it is on the driver side, top of the axle tube ). I need something to put into this hole without redrilling anything. Thanks!!!!

Thread type and size I'm assuming its NPT. What size thread? 1/4? Or? That info was not included in the specs. Mine is already drilled and taped.

Can the threaded part of the vent be lengthened? I need enough thread to go through brake line junction block then into the housing.
