Overall Assessment

Customers highly recommend our product, praising its perfect fit, high quality construction, and superior functionality compared to original and competitive parts. Many noted its clean, professional design and streamlined installation process. Built to be a sturdy replacement for worn out or rusted parts, its exceptional material quality and well-executed welds were positively received; although, a few users suggested more welding for added strength. Some customers found a discrepancy between the hole distance, requiring minor modifications; however, overall, its compatibility with various systems and ease of fitment on different truck models was appreciated.

Good fit and well constructed

I bought this for my 1950 GMC one ton chassis and it fit perfect once I cut the lower flanges of the frame rails. My original cross member was cracked in several places and I was planning on fixing it but would have had to modify heavily to work with my Scott's Hot Rod IFS system. This Speedway crossmember works great with my IFS. I was a little disappointed when I recieved it and found it was 3 plates welded together, but the welds are nice and clean and well done. I was even surprised at how close the holes in the new crossmember were to the stock holes in my frame. Only minor reaming was needed.

Radiator support brace

The quality of the brace is good as is the fit between the rails, but here is the problem. On the 52/53 ad 1/2 ton the radiator core support itself has two holes that mount this to the radiator support brace that I bought from Speedway Mtrs. The stock radiator support brace that I cut out has two holes that are 8"center to center. Now I checked with a few owners of the same truck and there core support holes are also 8" center to center. Now the radiator suppor brace that Speedway sells has two holes that are 9" center to center so make this new brace work I will have to modify the exsisting holes. I dont know what they used to mock up the holes but for these years the holes are 8" center to center, they need to redo the brace.

Does this use the factory rivet holes? From the picture, it looks like it may use the factory rivet holes for the front portion of the original cross member, is this the case? IE a direct bolt in once the original is removed?

GMC Will this support and the cross members work on GMC 1/2 ton trucks. I read that the GMC supports are different. Not sure about the center support. I would like to build a frame for my gmc. I want to use the bolt in 4 link in the rear. The radiator support and center support. Along with the frame rails.
