You need high-performance shocks that are dependable with plenty of tuning ability, and of course fully rebuildable so that you can adjust your racing shocks as needed for your racing program or fully rebuild them in the off season to prepare for another year of racing. PRO Shocks’ TA series of twin-tube steel body shocks are just what you’re after. With a 2-inch diameter body that features a coilover ready snap ring groove, strong 5/8-inch shock shaft, adjustable valving and fully rebuildable by an authorized PRO rebuilding facility, the TA series of racing shocks offers racers true value for their racing program. For coilover conversion simply add either our 5-inch or 2.5-inch diameter spring coilover sleeve/conversion kit.
The benefits of a twin-tube shock design in racing when compared to a monotube are what makes them perfect as dirt track racing shocks. The lower gas pressures found in twin-tube shocks not only provide lower friction on seals but translates to these shocks often having a lower rebuild cost, saving your racing budget. The lower gas pressure also allows the internal valving to be followed more smoothly at lower speeds, which allows the shocks to break free with smaller inputs where grip is critical, making weight transfer smoother and providing more progressive damping, which equates to more driver feel when comparing to a monotube shock. These lower pressures also produce less extension force, or preload, on the shock itself. The steel body is more tolerant of minor racing inflicted damage, protecting the internals and allowing the shock to continue working through the rigors of racing.
PRO Shocks’ TA series racing shocks are not a one-size fits most product. We offer a multitude of compression and rebound options along with stroke lengths of 4- to 9-inches to provide the precise shock specifications your racing program needs. These compression and rebound options also allow you to update your shocks as your setup changes versus buying all new shocks, saving your racing budget. These shocks are approved for use as dirt track racing shocks in many IMCA, USRA, and WISSOTA classes and are perfect for dirt and asphalt racing programs. Note that the TA series shocks do not ship with mounting ends and will require two standard .500-inch bearing ends threaded for 9/16-18 threads, such as the PRO Shocks steel bearing mount.
