Polished Powergen Alternator 12 Volt
Purchased this Powergen Alternator several years ago. Have had absolutely no problems with it at all. Most people don't even know its an alternator, and not a generator. Looks like a chromed stock generator. Other an working perfectly, I like the way it keeps the stock appearance to the engine compartment. Being 12 Volts also helps giving me brighter lights and faster starts. This is the only way to go. SpeedWay Motors has them in stock for quick delivery. Buy with confidence.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered this, and I should have done so years ago. I have the strap Mount model and the aluminum bracket fit like a glove, impressive due to the machine work involved. I used a new 8g wire which I felt necessary (as directed by PM also). At idle (500rpms) it doesn't charge… at cruise 1900rpms she reads 14.2vdc on the gauge… as expected. Very nice product.

This replaced the stock generator on a 1953 Mercury that had been converted to 12V. It was a exact fit and cleaned up the engine compartment.

This powergen looks like a generator as it is suppose to, for that vintage look, I mounted mine on a offenhauser intake manifold on a flathead engine, the cradle mount did require a bit of trimming to fit properly
