- Solve Your LS Swap Turbo Build Hot Side Needs with Our LS Forward Facing Headers
- LS swaps are certainly hugely popular and today they’re making more power than ever thanks to all manner of LS single turbo kits that provide easy bolt on gains for horsepower and torque. Many of these kits are based around a single turbo and cast iron manifolds. This is great for a street application, but what if you’re wanting to up the boost and go racing? Or perhaps you want to configure a custom twin turbo setup for your LS swapped race car?
- One of the best ways to plumb a large single turbo or a set of twins in a mirror image setup (one standard and one reverse rotation turbo) is with a forward facing tubular header setup. Using upswept forward facing turbo LS headers provide the shortest and cleanest path to your turbos and provide more room in the engine compartment for your intercooler and the fitment of a motor plate (which usually obstructs the typical down facing exhaust collector when swapping manifolds side for side) by keeping the turbo mounting higher in the engine bay.
- Polished Stainless Steel Construction for Long Life and Superior Appearance
- Using 304 stainless steel for its strength and corrosion resistance, our forward facing LS turbo headers begin with thick 3/8-inch flanges that are CNC machined to provide a tight, leak free seal to your LS cylinder heads. Welded to these strong stainless steel flanges are large, high flow 1-7/8-inch mandrel bent primary tubes that help get those hot exhaust gasses to your turbo(s) in the most direct path possible. The mandrel bending process ensures a uniform primary tube diameter for the entire length of the primary tube, including any bends. These primaries converge into industry standard 3-inch V-band flanges for gasket free sealing to the rest of your hot side plumbing for use as LS single turbo headers or even directly to V-band flanged turbo inlet adapters for use as LS twin turbo headers if you’re looking for that cool “twin turbo sticking partially through the hood” look.
- Works With All Popular LS Engine Displacements
- The large 1.892-inch round exhaust ports CNC machined into the header flanges means these will bolt up and work with standard LS exhaust ports found on popular LS swap engines including the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2, LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and LSA engines. So, no matter what LS engine you’re swapping to, or even if you decide to upgrade your LS cylinder heads later, these forward facing LS turbo headers will bolt up to whatever cylinder head you’re using, now or in the future. Our universal LS forward facing headers are a race only product and not intended for street use. These turbo LS headers feature an overall length of 22-inches in length for the driver’s side header and 23-inches in length for the passenger’s side header. High quality graphite header gaskets, header bolts, and V-band weld flanges with V-band clamps for the collectors are included as well.
- If you’re ready to step up your LS swap’s performance with some boost courtesy of a single or dual turbo upgrade, our polished stainless steel LS forward facing turbo headers are a fantastic way to ensure your turbo(s) are fed a steady diet of exhaust gasses. These headers will help your turbocharged LS spool up quickly, packing your combustion chambers with power making pressurized air, while the upswept forward facing design provides more room for engine swap mount kits, motor plates, trick suspensions, and of course front mounted intercoolers.

- Route Your Exhaust Easily to Your T3/T4 Turbo Flange with A Bolt On 90-Degree Elbow
- The ease of adding a turbo to your build has come a long way in the last decade. Where going the turbo route often meant tons of fabrication it was often easier to add a supercharger kit or even add a nitrous plate to your engine previously. Much of that has changed though with complete turbo kits for popular chassis/engine applications, and numerous hot side installation kits for popular setups like single turbo LS swaps. But what if you don’t have something popular engine or chassis wise because you like to build stuff that others don’t? Well, then you’re going to have to plan your turbo build out, choosing the appropriate bits for your chassis, engine, and power level desired.
- Obviously, choosing the turbo itself is a great starting point, as that will determine hot and cold side tubing diameters, intercooler sizing, and more. One aspect of building a custom turbo setup is connecting the turbo’s turbine inlet to your exhaust system. There are various weld on T4 turbo flange to 3-inch pipe options available, however these T4 turbo flange transitions may not place the turbo in the correct location for your engine compartment’s workspace. Using a T4 flange that incorporates a tight 90-degree bend not only provides more mounting options, but when utilizing the infinite adjustability of a V-band connection your turbo placement options are almost limitless.
- T4 to V-Band Connection Provides Custom Mounting Solution for Your Turbo Build
- In custom turbo installations, especially where under hood room is at a premium, being able to place the turbo exactly where you need it for fitment and/or plumbing needs is paramount. Often in these cases pre-made turbo manifolds or headers will not work due to interference with the chassis or other components and custom 3-inch hot side plumbing must be utilized to feed the turbo in the location you’ve chosen for it to live. In these instances, utilizing a T4 turbo flange to 3-inch pipe adapter is mandated. However, you can improve on this configuration by going to a T4 to V-band connection, and yet another step to a 90-degree V-band elbow. Moving directly to the T4 to V-band elbow provides for quick and easy removal of the turbo for engine service by simply unbolting the V-band clamp versus having to unbolt the turbo’s turbine housing from the T3/T4 turbo flange directly. The V-band connection also offers superior sealing while also providing the ability to clock the turbo flange and/or make up for small misalignments in your turbo’s outlet connections.
- Premium 304 Stainless Steel Construction Resists Corrosion and Provides Years of Service
- Our 90-degree V-band elbow for the T3/T4 turbo flange begins as a one piece casting (no TIG welds to fail due to heat or high vibration) that is then CNC machined. The 90-degree V-band elbow inlet is machined for the included adapter ring that requires welding to your 3-inch exhaust, which is then secured by the included 3-inch stainless steel V-band clamp. The tight radius of the 90-degree elbow allows for a compact turbo installation, while the adapter’s outlet is machined for use with both T3 and T4 flange patterns. The large outlet pattern (1.977” x 3.020”) ensures plenty of exhaust flow to your turbo’s turbine inlet for easier transition of exhaust flow for faster spool up. Premium hardware with flanged nuts, split washers, and M10-1.5 bolts is included to keep your project moving forward. Enhance your custom turbo build today with our stainless steel T3/T4 turbo flange 90-degree V-band elbow and make your turbo installation a breeze!

- V-Band Clamps Securely Retain Your Exhaust and Turbo Plumbing
- There’s nothing that will end your day more quickly at the track than a failed clamp on your turbo plumbing or exhaust system. The heat, vibration, and constant removal of turbo and exhaust plumbing for maintenance means traditional band clamps wear out, 3- or 4-bolt collector flange gaskets burn up, and worm drive clamps with silicone couplers can only take so much boost pressure and heat. Enter the V-band clamp.
- Designed in the early 1940s and initially used in everything from military to aerospace applications, the V band exhaust clamp has become the go to sealing clamp for elevated temperature, high vibration, and high boost applications in the performance automotive and truck world. These V-band clamps are perfect for where the tubing is constantly being disassembled for servicing or repairs between rounds at the track. No more stretched traditional band clamps, leaking collector gaskets, no more losing collector bolts, or having a 3- or 4-bolt collector flange in the way in a cramped engine bay, and no more blowing turbo or intercooler plumbing off at peak boost output with big singles or twin turbo applications with double digit boost numbers.
- Speedway Motors stainless steel V-band clamps are made from high quality 304 stainless material and available in sizes 2.25”, 2.50”, 3.00”, and 3.50” to fit whatever high stress clamping needs your specific tubing size requires. Our V-band clamps feature a three-piece V-band coupling design with an easy to use T-bolt retainer and locking nut that applies uniform clamping force around the circumference of the tube’s male and female flanges (included with the clamp and must be welded to your tubing) via a wedging action. The flanges feature a self-centering lip that recesses into the mating flange for a leak free seal, no matter the application. Unlike traditional band clamps or bolt together flanges that use a gasket, these V-band clamps are reusable, and can be removed and installed quickly and easily via the single locking nut retainer on the captured T-bolt. No hardware to lose!
