Pick-Up for Small Block Ford 302 Claimer Oil Pan

Quality looks good but accuracy could be better.

Overall part looks good but had to bent it slightly to fit the oil pan is design to fit I was not getting the correct gap between the pickup box and the bottom of the oil pan. As for performance I can't say yet project still under construction, I hope it performs as expected..

I would say that I finally got to buy one for myself. If your a builder its always the first thing you want to do, And that's buying the right parts from the right people. Speedway has been at the top of my call sheet since the day I bought my first set of gauges with my lawn mower money. I started small and worked up to building go fast motors and alot of friends that did the same.

INCORRECT FIT

The " Claimer Oil Pan " that this Pick-Up was sold for is 7.5 inches deep. This Pick-Up hangs down from it's mounting 7.75 inches. Space between pan and oil pick-up recommended to be from .250 - .375. The tang that bolts onto the main bearing cap had to be cut off ( 5/8") and rewelded inorder to get the recommended clearance.

Decent unit at an affordable price

I purchased this pickup along with the SBF Claimer Oil Pan. 2 of the 3 mounting holes on the pickup needed some slight ovaling in order to fit, and there was a little weld dropthrough where the tube was welded to the oil pump flange. After cleaning up the dropthrough with my die grinder and ovaling the 2 holes, the pickup bolted on no problems and should work just fine.
