For many hot rods and customs, the gas filler cap is most often an afterthought. Either the stock fuel filler cap or door is used, or the fuel filler is concealed behind a license plate frame or even accessed through the trunk opening. Why not make your fuel filler a statement piece that will get people’s attention at the gas pump or on the show field? Just ask any Cobra replica owner and they’ll tell you that their Le Mans gas cap with roller latch flip top gas cap is one of the most talked about exterior design aspects of those vehicles. While the brightly polished Cobra gas cap is cool, we wanted to make something more befitting a custom or hot rod and their earlier styling elements. To do so, we started with a similar flip top gas cap design but incorporated the classic Offenhauser logo with a ribbed flip top gas cap for a unique application that will work with most customs and hot rods.

Forget the screw on fuel filler cap that you’re paranoid of losing at the gas pump (or resting on your nice paint job!). Now, with our Offenhauser flip top gas cap you simply release the roller latch and swing the flip top gas cap out of the way for easy fuel filling! The six-bolt mounting flange makes installation easy on most any vehicle body panel and includes a matching rubber base gasket as well. The cast aluminum assembly is fully polished and features a 2-inch outlet for use with standard 2-inch fuel filler hose for connection to your fuel tank or fuel cell. If needed, we also offer 2-inch fuel filler neck adapters for many styles of fuel tanks and fuel cells as well. The cap is also fully vented to prevent any pressure from building up in your fuel tank.

The Monza gas cap like design features its own rubber seal with spring loaded insert to ensure fuel stays in your tank and doesn’t splash out under hard acceleration or cornering. Main dimensions of the assembly include an overall mounting flange diameter of 5-1/4 inches (note that the bolt circle pattern is 4.627 inches and is not compatible with standard six-bolt fuel cell flanges), overall height of 2-5/8 inches for the flip top gas cap, and an overall height of 2-13/16 inches for the roller latch itself. Stainless steel socket head bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts are included for a secure mounting on your vehicle as well.
