Our Standard Bear Jaw Door Latch Mounting Plate Kit Makes Installation Easy

When installing our Universal Standard Bear Jaw car door latches our optional mounting plates help make your car door latch installation go more smoothly and provide a professional finished look to your door. Without our mounting plates you must cut the precise opening for the universal car door latch jaws and striker pin to interface, plus the mounting holes for the car door latch itself. With these mounting plates you only make simple straight cuts to fit the mounting plates, saving time and frustration.

These door latch mounting plates are constructed of steel for strength and given a black painted finish to aid against corrosion. They are designed to be welded into your steel door shell or can be bonded to a fiberglass door using proper fiberglass bonding procedures to mount your car door latch. These latch plates are designed to work with our Universal Standard Bear Jaw car door latch models only. We also carry the correct door latch mounting plates for our Slim-Line latches if you are using these smaller alternative Bear Jaw universal car door latch assemblies in your hot rod or street rod’s door.

Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the product's affordability and practicality, emphasizing its ease of installation and suitability for projects involving suicide doors. However, they noted the kit doesn't include screws or bolts for installing bearclaw latches. Despite this, customers still find it cheaper compared to custom shops. However, it was mentioned that the latches don't lock, which didn't satisfy all usage demands. Overall, the product’s quality is well-regarded, making it a recommended buy for specific uses.

Cheaper than getting it from the custom shop i got my bearclaws from (like half the cost). Fit right - only complaint is it didn't come with the bolts to mount the claw to the bracket.
