Max Volume Small/Big Block Chevy SBC/BBC Oil Pump, 3/4 Pickup
Chevy Big Block V8, Chevy Small Block V8, .75" Pickup Tube O.D., Steel
These high volume B/B Chevy oil pumps use longer internal gears to produce 22% more volume than a standard 396/402/427/454 oil pump. They have a 5 bolt cover and require a 3/4" diameter pickup.
There are many scenarios where a standard-volume oil pump won't provide the protection your engine needs. Engines with loose clearances (quick rebuilds or high-mileage engines) will need more oil volume to maintain a desired pressure. Engines operating at sustained high RPM (racing) also typically need more oil volume to maintain pressure in all oil galleries.
- Fits 1965-2000 big block Chevy (HV stock replacement)
- Fits 1955-1999 small block Chevy (w/ specific aftermarket pickup and driveshaft, such as 91015131 and 54522090)
NOTE: If using this 5-bolt oil pump on a SBC motor, additional modifications may need to be made to the oil pan for clearance. For Oval Track racing applications, we recommend oil pans 91015104, 91015106, or 91015108 (all work with pickup 91015131).
