The POWERPAK kit is the racer’s best value. Developed for highperformance enthusiasts and engine builders who want uncompromising reliability, the POWERPAK delivers just that. The forged piston kits are made from either 4032 aluminum alloy, which allows for tighter cylinder-to-wall clearances and improved temperature stability, or 2618 alloy, which adds strength and increased detonation resistance. In addition to fully machined crowns and CNC machined pin bores, the pistons are dual coated with phosphate to reduce micro-welding and pin galling, and the skirt features a GRAFAL® anti-friction coating. Each set includes low-drag rings proven to increase horsepower and torque, clips and application-specific pins—all designed to ensure minimum friction and maximum horsepower.

  • Forged piston for performance applications
  • Fully-machined crown
  • Grafal anti-Friction coating on skirts*
  • Phosphate-coated to reduce micro-welding and pin galling**
  • Pin bores finished on CNC boring equipment
  • Hand deburred
  • High strength, light weight German steel pins
  • Race-proven round wire locks
  • Low drag ring pack
  • Light weight slipper skirt forgings

* MAHLE’s GRAFAL® skirt coating reduces drag, scuffing, friction and cylinder bore wear; reduces piston noise.

** Phosphate coating provides the grey appearance to the MAHLE piston. This dry lubricant coating (not to be confused with a thermal film coating) provides a lubricant film in the pin bores and ring grooves until the oiling system of the engine reaches operating pressure; particularly useful during the initial start-up or break-in of engines to protect against galling and microwelding. The piston crown is still machineable.

Questions & Answers

1 Question • 1 Answer

Wondering what these pistons would have for compression with 110cc closed chambered head + head gasket @ .380 or close to that m measurement. Looking for some 454 .060 over pistons trying to get 10-10.7 compression. I have other heads also. Open chamber 119cc
