Lucas Oil 10076 Details

Lucas 15W-40  Magnum High TBN CI-4 Engine Oil is a blend of high quality base oils and an additive package that allows extended drain intervals and a much higher degree of protection from metal to metal contact.  This product is excellent for gasoline engines.

The exclusive additive package in Lucas 15W-40 Motor Oil  insures a protective film on parts at all times. Also, the additive package is more resistant to break down from the solvents in diesel fuel than common additive packages found in regular 15W-40 blends.

Motor oil is usually changed because it's contaminated with combustion by-products, not because it's worn out. The high detergent action of Lucas 15W-40 allows up to twice as much contamination to be held in suspension and still have good lubrication qualities.

SAE 15W-40 Magnum (High TBN) is designed for use in pre 2007 trucks without diesel particulate filters.  This oil blend is very effective in engines using high sulfur fuels.

I've driven a 2001 Ford F-350, 7.3 diesel for about 5 years. Of course I wanted to use the best oil in my truck. The problem is that there are so many different opinions on the best diesel oil. I knew the reputation of Lucas products but they even had several different blends. So I emailed Lucas, told them what engine was in my truck and asked them what they recommended. They wrote me back later that same day and told me they recommended 12 quarts of Lucas CI-4 with 3 quarts of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. (Yea, my truck takes 15 quarts of oil.). Well, so far so good.
