I am using this shifter in a Model A Ford with a 327 and TH400. It needed to be mounted as far forward as it could be and when it that position the shifter didn't move thru all transmission detent positions(P,R,N,D,2,1) The instructions say to put transmission and shifter in park and adjust threaded rod to the distance between the quad lever and trans arm and then you are done. The two arms are different lengths and move thru different arcs so the shifter never got into the low(1) position when the transmission did. I lengthened the trans arm about 1/2" and now it works properly.
