Details
Lightweight steel driveshaft lengths measured from center of U-joint to center of U-joint. Driveshafts are not dynamically balanced. We recommend dynamically balancing the driveshaft prior to installation. Several lengths are available.
- Super strong and much lighter
- 2" O.D. tubing with .083" wall
- Forged yokes
- Painted white for high visibility on the track
- Fits most IMCA modifieds
U-joint # 91048315 works for the front U-joint position on these driveshafts and with the front yokes we sell. Any of the three U-joints listed will work on the rear U-joint location based on rear axle requirement.

Not for Drag racing
I was building a hot rod for street, and was pleased to find a Speedway driveshaft exactly the length I needed. I believe the description said primarily intended for circle track racing, so I figured it'd be plenty strong. I had 1100 street miles on it, worked great, did not even need a balance. Then yesterday I took it drag racing at a local track. Street tires. Second pass, twisted that driveshaft in two like a piece of taffy. Obviously it was not intended to take the shock of drag racing. That is not a complaint. I took a shot because of the price and the compact size. Speedway's description was fair and truthful. This is just a headsup that if you intend to even occasionally dragrace, a heavier duty driveshaft would be advised.

Disapointed
I purchased a speedway driveshaft for use in a dirt modified racecar. This shaft came to me bent. An unusable condition that cant be seen to the naked eye, but shows up at the track where there is nothing a person can do about it. The cost to get it corrected was as much as the driveshaft. Your catalog says nothing about recomending balancing or even that these shafts are NOT balanced.

Just what i needed for my 1967 Ford transmission swap. I went from a 3 speed manual to a 1978 pickup 3 speed overdrive trans. I pull a boat so I need the lower rear gear (3.50 with yukon limited slip) and it is nice to have overdrive when not hauling the boat. Quick delivery, very happy

If I get the 29.5 inch shaft, is it 29.5 inch center of u joint to center of u joint

I want to install this in a rat rod with a t5 3speed manual and a 200 ford 6. The length from the end of tail shaft to the flat of the pinion is 34 3/8 inches. Which length is best for this application. I'm thinking the 31.5 would be okay.
