Speedway Motors 9101258 Details

Fuel tank liner is easy to use and effective  when the directions are followed closely. It internally seals the multitude of small leaks that often form due to age, rust or  where the straps wrap around the tank. If you fix the major obvious leaks, this fuel tank liner seals the rest! Liner is resistant to gasoline, diesel  fuel, alcohol and other fuels or fuel additives. It is designed to seal new or existing fuel tanks with minor leaks. Contrary to what some people will tell you, rust does form  inside gas tanks. The cause is condensation and water in the fuel. Seals rust under the liner coating so it cannot flake off to plug fuel-line filters or cause  additional damage. Further rusting is also reduced.

Unable to find the replacement tank for my rototiller, I did some research and found this website and product. This product saved my rototiller. I learned a great lesson on availability of parts, or the lack there of. This kit was easy to use and if you follow the directions, can save a project. Follow the directions to the letter and fix that tank.

The cleaning instructions state to "pour the quart of tank cleaner in the emptied tank", but there's only 1/2 a quart supplied. The tank prep states "pour 1 pint (half of the quart bottle provided) of Tank Prep into the tank..." A total on one pint comes with the kit. The instructions on the liner can states to use 1 quart of liner for a tank size less than 12 gallons and 2 quarts for greater than 12 gallons. Problem is there is only 1/2 a quart supplied. I have a 4 1/2 gallon motorcycle gas tank with some rust and previous tank liner in there. The cleaner/degreaser was barely enough quantity to slosh around. I'd recommend getting the POR 15 products. I've had good luck with them in the past and should have stuck with that.

the sealer is a little runny, thin, in my opinion. If you have pin holes it will run out of very small holes, have them sealed on the outside of tank somehow before putting sealer in tank, they state this in directions. I have used the Cream product before this one and did not have this problem as it is much thicker sealer. This stuff works, you should use two coatings letting the first to dry first before going in with second coating.
