Dress Up Your Gen 3 LS Engine with Our Easy to Install Valley Cover Plate

The stock LS valley cover on your Gen 3 LS engine certainly gets the job done of keeping the dirt out of your engine and covering the LS engine block’s valley area. However, it isn’t the most eye pleasing piece (most production parts aren’t, as they’re designed more for form and function than visuals on the show field). If you’re planning to run any of the popular hi-ram style LS intake manifolds the LS engine cover becomes that much more visible and starts to become a bit of an eyesore when you’re looking to dress your LS engine up.

Additionally, many aftermarket LS wiring solutions for performing an LS swap does away with the factory knock sensors. Adding an aftermarket LS valley cover not only cleans up the area but without the knock sensors everything looks a lot more finished under that focal piece of an aftermarket intake and ties in nicely with aftermarket LS valve covers as well. Replacing the LS’s engine cover is simple hand ratchet work while you’re upgrading your LS intake manifold, LS valve covers, or detailing your LS engine.

Speedway Motors’ LS valley cover is CNC machined from 1/4-inch 6061 aluminum and is designed to fit all 10-bolt Gen 3 LS engines, including the LS1 and LS6 models as well as truck Vortec engines like the popular 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 LS. Available in raw aluminum or anodized black, you’re bound to match any engine color combination, intake manifold, or LS valve covers. Or grab the raw version and paint or powder coat it to match your custom engine detail work. Our LS valley cover works well with our LS valve covers or LS coil covers for a great dress up option.

While our LS valley cover deletes the knock sensors, it is not compatible with 11-bolt Gen 4 LS engines, nor will it work for displacement on demand (DOD) or active fuel management (AFM). If you’re not sure which generation of LS engine you have then take a minute to read our Gen 3/Gen 4 LS ID guide to familiarize yourself with what you have. You can reuse your stock LS valley cover gasket, however we do recommend a replacement gasket for a leak free installation, as the OE gasket does get hard/brittle with heat and age. The included 5mm counter sunk hex hardware provides a sleek flush look and compliments many aftermarket dress up items that also use hex hardware.
