Easily Run a CT525 Crate Engine in Your Sprint Car Without Expensive Frame Tab Changes

If you’re planning to run one of the CT525 LS-based crate engine sprint car classes, such as the Knoxville Raceway Pro Sprints class, you’ll quickly find that the LS-based engine is a bit shorter than the traditional small block Chevy most sprint cars have run for decades. In the past some sort of modification to the front motor plate frame tabs would be required to properly fit the LS engine into your sprint car. However, with Speedway Motors’ involvement in this crate motor racing program we devised a bolt-in solution that requires no modifications to frame of your sprint car.

Using high quality 6061 T-6 aluminum plate and billet aluminum bar stock we have devised a bolt on front motor mount/plate system that properly places these CT525 circle track crate engines in the chassis of a sprint car and bolts to the existing small block Chevy front motor plate frame tabs. Simply assemble the left and right mount plates to your CT525 crate engine and drop it into place. We even made a spot on the left side plate to attach our sprint car battery box to as well!

To install our LS crate motor front mount plates, you will reuse your small block Chevy front motor plate to frame tab fasteners, but you will need metric M10x1.5 bolts to attach the mounts to your LS block. The left side mount bracket will take three bolts with a minimum length of 55mm, while the right side mount bracket will require three bolts with a minimum length of 30mm.
